Bill Belichick's salary is one of the biggest mysteries in sports.

Prior to Super Bowl LII, Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported he makes $12.5 million per year, but it appears that number has changed since and gone up -- big time.

On Monday, it was reported Urban Meyer wants $12 million to coach in the NFL, which prompted NFL head coaches salaries to be brought up.

Pro Football Talk said Pete Carroll makes north of $15 million and Sean Payton is in that range, but then Belichick's salary is "believed to be north of $20 million."

It also notes that "teams funnel extra compensation to these guys through related companies."

More than $20 million per year is an incredible amount of money for a head coach, but it is worth noting he's the defacto general manager as well so he fills two roles.

Even so, that's a lot of money for one person.
