It appears the Patriots will get their quarterback back on Thursday.
According to ESPN's Field Yates, Cam Newton is expected to rejoin the Patriots when they practice Thursday, which puts him in line to start Sunday against Denver.
Newton has been on the COVID list since Oct. 3.
[UPDATE 5 p.m.]: Per the NFL transaction wire, Newton has been activated off the COVID list.
The quarterback is able to return even without a negative test since he hasn't shown any symptoms and 10 days have passed since he first tested positive.
The Patriots will host the Broncos Sunday after it was rescheduled from Week 5. If Newton does indeed start, he would have only missed one game.
