Cam Newton reportedly working with throwing coach this offseason

Obviously, throwing the football was not a strength for Cam Newton in 2020, his first year with the Patriots.

Newton completed 65.8% of his passes for 2,657 yards in 15 games for eight touchdowns and 10 interceptions.

Some of those struggles could be attributed to him having shoulder and foot surgeries and tweaking his mechanics. But, it seems like he isn't satisfied with where things are at.

According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Newton is working with a throwing coach this offseason to "rebuild some of his fundamentals."

The early results seem positive as Reiss noted some who have been at Patriots offseason voluntary workouts with him have noticed a difference.

Newton will be competing with rookie Mac Jones and third-year player Jarrett Stidham for the starting job, although after the draft Bill Belichick declared Newton QB1 right now.

OTAs begin for the team this week with Thursday's session being open to the media.
