Report: Patriots do not believe they have a COVID-19 outbreak at Gillette Stadium

While the Patriots have three players on the COVID list and likely another heading on it Monday following a positive test Sunday, they do not believe they have an outbreak at Gillette Stadium.

According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the team does not believe Byron Cowart, the player who tested positive on Sunday, contracted the virus at Gillette Stadium since the team was not there from Friday, Oct. 2-Friday, Oct. 9.

They believe he caught it either from Stephon Gilmore while in Kansas City, or away from the team in general.

This does make sense since the only day the team has been at Gillette Stadium over the last week-plus was on Saturday and Cowart's test was taken Saturday morning and the results came back late Saturday night.

The Patriots got good news Monday morning, per ESPN's Mike Reiss, that the latest rounds of tests on the team all came back negative.

New England had its Week 5 game with Denver pushed to Week 6 and will not return to the facility until Wednesday.
