The Patriots hosted veteran defensive back Sean Davis for a workout on Tuesday, according to multiple reports.

The 27-year-old was a second-round pick by the Steelers in 2016. Davis has also spent time with the Washington Football Team, Colts and Bengals.

Most recently he bounced back and forth between the Indianapolis and Cincinnati practice squads, serving as a standard elevation to the game day roster for both teams.

His best season came back in 2017 with Pittsburgh when he had 92 tackles and three interceptions.

Davis primarily plays safety, so it's unclear whether there's genuine interest or the Patriots are looking at him in case of emergency.
