Patriots reportedly hosting 2 veteran defensive players for visits Friday

The Patriots were extremely busy with adding players this week, but it doesn't seem like they are done.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, the Patriots are hosting two veteran defensive players on Friday -- cornerback Desmond Trufant and linebacker Raekwon McMillan.

Both players have connections to coaches who worked under Bill Belichick, as Trufant was with the Lions last year (Matt Patricia) and McMillan was with the Dolphins from 2017-19 (Brian Flores).

Trufant was released by Detroit this week after spending just one year with the Lions. He spent the first seven seasons of his career in Atlanta. His best year came in 2019 when he totaled four interceptions.

McMillan, who plays more of an inside linebacker role, finished last year with 27 tackles in Las Vegas, but did have a massive year in 2018 with 105 tackles.

[UPDATE 1:10 p.m.]: McMillan has reportedly signed a one-year deal.

These wouldn't be as big of additions as some other players added earlier in the week, but solid depth pieces any good team would love to have.
