Patriots reportedly in mix to land RB Leonard Fournette

There was a report Monday indicating the Patriots could be targeting running backs in free agency, and now there's reported interest for at least one.

According to Sports Illustrated's Albert Breer, the Patriots are among a few teams interested in Leonard Fournette. Besides New England, there's Seattle and of course, Tampa Bay.

The report adds Tom Brady is helping to recruit him back to the Buccaneers.

New England currently has Damien Harris, Sony Michel and J.J. Taylor at the position, but Bill Belichick has always been about depth at the spot.

Fournette, 26, said during the playoff run he embraced the multiple backs in Tampa, which could obviously be the case in New England.

In 13 regular-season games with the Bucs, he totaled 367 yards and six touchdowns, while catching 36 passes out of the backfield. Fournette also had at least 55 yards in all four playoff games and three touchdowns.
