On Monday, the Patriots placed running back J.J. Taylor on the COVID-19/Reserve list.
While he's been a healthy inactive in four of the last five games, the Patriots are still making sure they have depth on the roster by looking into adding another running back.
According to ESPN's Mike Reiss, Devine Ozigbo is in town for a workout with the team. If all goes well the expectation is he will be added to the practice squad.
Ozigbo, who played in college at Nebraska, was an undrafted rookie out of in 2019. He's had two stints each with the Saints and Jaguars, totaling 11 carries for 25 yards and catching 13 passes for 72 yards over 20 career games.
He was also born in Massachusetts, but raised in Texas.
Besides Taylor, the Patriots have Damien Harris, Rhamondre Stevenson and Brandon Bolden at the position.
