The Patriots added wide receivers Nelson Agholor and Kendrick Bourne earlier in the week and apparently tried to add another in A.J. Green.
According to John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Phoenix, the Cardinals beat out the Patriots for Green's services, as the wide receiver reportedly signed a one-year deal with the Cardinals Wednesday.
Green has spent his entire nine-year NFL career with the Bengals where he's complied six, 1,000-yard seasons. While he's not the player he once was, he did finish 2020 with 47 receptions for 523 yards and two touchdowns.
This news would indicate the Patriots are not done at the receiver position and could potentially be targeting players on one-year deals.
Right now, the Patriots have Julian Edelman, N’Keal Harry, Jakobi Meyers, Agholor, Bourne, Gunner Olszewski and Marqise Lee on the wide receiver depth chart.
