Bill Belichick is not known for giving injury updates on players, but he did (sort of) on Thursday when it comes to Cam Newton.
Newton injured his throwing hand in last Friday's OTA session and speaking to reporters on a video conference Thursday confirmed the quarterback would not be on the field for Thursday's session.
“He’s doing all right,” Belichick said. “He won’t participate today, but he’s getting better.”
Is it serious?
“No,” Belichick answered. “Well, he’s not out there, but I think he’ll be all right, yeah.”
Newton reportedly suffered a bone bruise and it's not expected he will be on the field again until training camp, which will begin in late July.
This means more reps for Mac Jones, Jarrett Stidham and Brian Hoyer.
