This past offseason, Patriots wide receiver N'Keal Harry did a lot of work with footwork specialist Rischad Whitfield, who has also worked with Odell Beckham Jr., DeAndre Hopkins and others over the years.

So, how does Whitfield think Harry has done so far this year?

Speaking to Henry McKenna of Patriots Wire, it seems he believes Cam Newton has held Harry back a bit.

“We’ve got a new quarterback. We’ve got to put some of that (expletive) on Cam,” Whitfield said. “Cam hasn’t been the most accurate this year. Like if (N’Keal) had Tom Brady, Tom Brady would’ve fed him. But we’re back there with Cam and Cam’s getting acclimated to the offense, too.”

Whitfield added: “It’s a big deal coming from Tom Brady to Cam Newton. … That’s one of Cam Newton’s biggest issues is mechanics.”

In 11 games this season, Harry has 29 receptions for 277 yards and two touchdowns. As a rookie, he had 12 catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns in seven games.

The Patriots are currently 29th in the NFL in passing.

Harry has shown some encouraging signs of late when it comes to making plays down the field, so we'll see if that continues over the final three games of the season.
