Since Mac Jones wasn't overwhelmed with his first exposure to the NFL this spring, the question now becomes will he be ready to start Week 1 of the NFL season?

Its odds for who will take the first snap this season for the Patriots heavily favor Cam Newton. Right now, odds for Jones not taking the first snap are -350, while yes is +200.
It does seem at some point Jones will see snaps with Patriots, it's just a matter of when.
Newton struggled the first two days of mandatory minicamp this week, while picking it up in the third. Meanwhile, Jones was solid the first two days, but struggled in the third.
Training camp will begin in late July.
