Packers GM says no teams have called about Aaron Rodgers

All is quiet on the Aaron Rodgers front.

Green Bay Packers GM Brian Gutekunst revealed on Tuesday at the NFL Combine that he has not heard from a single team expressing any interest in a trade for the reigning MVP.

“Not at all,” he said, per ProFootballTalk. “Not at all. Not a single person.”

Rodgers, 38, has still not yet made a decision on his future, which may be why teams are holding off on reaching out to the Packers. However, Rodgers has said everything is on the table, which also includes retirement.

With the new league year beginning March 16, and NFL free agency to immediately follow, Gutekunst expressed hope that Rodgers will have made a decision by then.

“I would hope so,” he said. “That’s obviously the start of the new league year. There’s a lot of decisions that have to be made before that, so that would be helpful. I would think we would know something before then.”

Rodgers’ decision will likely have a ripple effect not only within the Packers, but across the league.

Gutekunst added that once Rodgers makes a decision, everything else will follow — which also includes whether or not to use the franchise tag on Davante Adams.

If Rodgers wants to play elsewhere, well, let the games begin as several teams will likely be bidding for his services in what will shape an eventful offseason.

Until now, we’ll just all have to wait.
