FOXBOROUGH -- Roughly 30 minutes after the Patriots fell to the Saints, 28-13, to fall to 1-2 on the year, the attention already shifted to next Sunday night when Tom Brady makes his return to Gillette Stadium.
The last question to Bill Belichick was about how tough the test will be and what it will be like to have Brady return.
"Obviously, they're a good team," he said. "Right now we're just focused on New Orleans. Look at the film, make the corrections on that, then we'll move on."
Devin McCourty knows it won't be an easy game at all.
“Obviously we’ll have a huge test Sunday coming in, so we have Tampa coming in here, who will be ready to go," he said. "They are undefeated — I don’t know when they play this week, but they are a good team that is going to come in here defending champs. All those things we talked about, you want to have a test to see if you can get it done. We’ll definitely get that Sunday night.”
Mac Jones was also asked a question about the matchup and Brady, but he dodged it.
"I think we're just going to focus on learning from the tape," he said. "I think that's most important. It definitely stinks to lose, but you can learn from it, and it definitely eats away at you when you lose, but you've got to learn and move on. That's what a lot of the older guys were telling me, just keep my head up.
"Obviously, no one likes to lose here, and the Patriots have done nothing but win for a long time. We've got to get back to that. It just happens through everyday grind, every day work, and not focusing on the results. Play each play. Play each day one day at a time. If we can do that, then I think we'll see progress, and we'll just go from there."
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. next Sunday night.
