Patriots can get revenge on Dolphins for Week 17 last year this Sunday

Last year, the Dolphins stunned the Patriots, 27-24, at Gillette Stadium in Week 17, which forced New England to play on Wild Card Weekend where it ultimately fell to the Titans.

With the Patriots' playoff hopes being 2% right now, according to FiveThirtyEight, they can return the favor this Sunday in Miami.

As of now, the Dolphins (8-5) are hanging onto the No. 7 seed and final wild card spot in the AFC.

If Miami wins its final three games -- vs. New England, at Las Vegas, at Buffalo -- it is in, but if it doesn't, the Ravens would likely be able to overtake them with their easier schedule and holding tiebreakers.

With a loss to the Patriots Sunday, FiveThirtyEight has the Dolphins having less than a 20% chance of making the playoffs.

It's pretty much a must-win for Miami since the Ravens, also 8-5, play the Jaguars, Giants and Bengals the final three weeks of the season.

With that being said, the Patriots have struggled of late in South Florida. Since 2013, the Patriots are 1-4 in December or January games at Miami.

While the Patriots are likely out of the playoff picture, they have the opportunity to play spoiler this Sunday.
