The Patriots made two roster moves following practice on Tuesday.

They claimed nose tackle Marquan McCall from the Carolina Panthers and in a corresponding move released injured wide receiver Tre Nixon.

McCall went undrafted out of the University of Kentucky in 2022 and played for the Panthers last season. The 6-foot-3, 345-pounder tallied 15 tackles for Carolina.

Nixon, who injured his shoulder in Saturday’s game against the Packers, has been with New England since signing with them in 2021. If he goes unclaimed on waivers, he would revert to the Patriots’ injured reserve.
