6 rings: Reaction to the Patriots landing Ezekiel Elliott

While Monday’s Patriots practice was one of the better sessions the offense has had this summer, there was a bit of a damper on it when during a tacking period, tight end Mike Gesicki went down with an injury. He landed on his right arm as he was tackled by linebacker Jahlani Tavai and left practice with trainers. He did not return.

Luckily, the team got some good news on Tuesday morning as according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the injury is a mild dislocated shoulder and the hope is that he’s back for week one.

Gesicki had a slow start to Patriots camp, but has come on strong as of late and seems to be building a chemistry with Mac Jones. Sunday's practice was highlighted by two connections between the quarterback and tight end.

New England signed Gesicki to a one-year deal worth up to $10 million in March.
