gresh and fauria: Leonard Fournette would be a perfect fit for the Patriots
The Patriots hosted running back Darrell Henderson on a free agent visit and workout on Wednesday, per the NFL's transaction wire.
Henderson was a third-round pick out of Memphis in 2019 and spent his first four seasons with the Rams. He was released by Los Angeles last November and subsequently claimed off of waivers by the Jaguars.
His best season came in 2021 when he rushed for 688 yards on 149 carries and helped lead the Rams to a Super Bowl LVI win.
The former Memphis Tiger is the second Super Bowl-winning running back New England hosted for a workout on Wednesday. Former Jaguar and Buccaneer runner Leonard Fournette was in Foxborough for a visit as well.
New England is looking to add to their depth behind starter Rhamondre Stevenson before they begin training camp on Wednesday, July 26.
