Jonnu Smith among Patriots inactive players vs. Browns

FOXBOROUGH -- The following Patriots players are inactive for Sunday's game against the Browns: quarterback Jarrett Stidham, running back Damien Harris, wide receiver Gunner Olszewski, cornerback Shaun Wade, linebacker Ronnie Perkins, tight end Jonnu Smith and offensive lineman Yasir Durant.

Harris and Olszewski were ruled out Saturday with concussions. Meanwhile, Rhamondre Stevenson is active after suffering a concussion last week, so he cleared protocol and the others did not.

With Smith (shoulder) out, tight end Devin Asiasi will make his season debut. In addition, Matt LaCosse was elevated off the practice squad Saturday, so Asiasi, LaCosse and Hunter Henry will be the active tight ends.

Trent Brown is active after coming off injured reserve Saturday. It will be interesting to see how much he plays and then what the line looks like with him on the field.

Stidham being inactive indicates Brian Hoyer is the No. 2 cornerback and primary backup, at least for now. Stidham was activated to the roster off injured reserve this week.
