Kyle Van Noy is back for Round 2 with the Patriots.
The outside linebacker spent one season with the Dolphins after spending 3.5 years with the Patriots. Van Noy was released in March and then signed a two-year deal worth just under $12 million with New England.
Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Van Noy said it's good to be back with familiar faces, but he has a lot to prove.
“It’s good to have familiar faces at work and in the organization and just having relationships. At the end of the day I am here to work," he said. "I’ve got a lot to prove for myself and I am just ready to go.”
Van Noy was asked if his role will be different, but he said he will leave that up to Bill Belichick. He did say he feels he can do a lot of different things.
“I leave that up to Bill, so you’ll have to ask Bill that," Van Noy said. "I feel like I am able to do a lot of different things and just trying to help.”
The Patriots have a stacked front-seven with a number of talented players, especially edge rushers, including Matt Judon, Josh Uche and Chase Winovich.
Van Noy has had at least 5.5 sacks in three of his last four years.
