Other than Mac Jones, who is the Patriots' most intriguing rookie?

The Patriots had a solid draft, so there are a few potential candidates for this, but we're going a little outside-the-box: wide receiver Tre Nixon.

Yes, he was picked in the seventh round, but the UCF product could make an impact this coming season. The wide receiver position is wide open where not only anyone on the roster could make the team, but they could also see significant playing time.

Nixon may not have reached his full potential in college and after a productive spring during OTAs and minicamp, he could put together a solid summer and earn a spot on the roster. We're not saying he will lead the team in catches by any means, we just think he has the chance to contribute.

Christian Barmore should see a good amount of snaps on the defensive line, but he was already one of the best defensive lineman in college football last year, so people have a good idea of what he can do already. Running back Rhamondre Stevenson seems to have some talent, but he figures to be in line for a red-shirt rookie season.

Based on all this it led us to go with Nixon, which would give Ernie Adams another feather in his cap.
