Brian Hoyer wasn't the only member of the Patriots to go on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Tuesday.
In addition, special teamer Brandon King and outside linebacker Josh Uche were added.
This does not mean they will not play Sunday as the NFL reportedly has changed its rules regarding return to play. The league and NFLPA have adopted the new CDC guidelines that reduce the quarantine time to five days from 10 days for all COVID positive players who are asymptomatic, including those who are unvaccinated.
This means players who do not have any symptoms can play in games on Sunday if they test positive early in week.
It's unclear if these players, or the two placed on the list Monday, have symptoms.
Also, OL Yasir Durant, LB Cameron McGrone (NFI) and DE Ronnie Perkins (IR) were activated off the COVID list.
The Patriots will host the Jaguars on Sunday.
