Of course, things can change and nothing is finalized, but the Patriots-Chiefs could play Monday in Kansas City.
According to ESPN's Dianna Russini, the Patriots had a virtual team meeting Saturday night and were told pending negative tests, the plan is to play Monday.
On Saturday, it was learned Cam Newton had tested positive for COVID-19. The team was tested and reportedly all tests came back negative. More were scheduled for Sunday, which will ultimately decide how to proceed.
It is unclear when the team would travel to Kansas City, as NFL rules state teams must fly to away cities the day before a game, but a special exemption could be given with the current circumstances. It's been reported the Patriots and Chiefs' facilities are closed Sunday.
Much more will be learned come Sunday.
