Training camp is just a few short weeks away and to get ready for it, we will be unveiling a 21 questions about the Patriots series relating to the upcoming season. Be sure to check back almost every day to see a new question.
How good are Patriots compared to rest of AFC?
Obviously, the Patriots were not very good last season as they finished 7-9, their worst record since 2000 and missed the playoffs for the first time since 2008.
They will clearly be better in 2021 with all the additions they made this offseason and likely will be a playoff contender, but how good are they compared to the rest of the AFC?
Kansas City and Buffalo are still undoubtably at the top and the Patriots aren't quite there yet, but they may be in that second tier in the conference.
Adding players like Hunter Henry as well as Jonnu Smith and getting back players like Dont'a Hightower and Kyle Van Noy will make this a competitive team week in and week out.
Right behind the Chiefs and Bills seem to be the Ravens, Browns and Titans and it feels like this is where the Patriots belong, as well. Some might hold back because of the questions at quarterback, but we figure the 2021 Patriots will be led by their defense.
If the Patriots can stay healthy and get average play from the quarterback position, they should be right there in the second tier in the AFC where it's a matter of how deep into the playoffs can they ultimately go.
