6 rings & football things: Breaking down all the buzz coming out of the combine & Reacting to episodes 5 & 6 of 'The Dynasty'
The Patriots' 2024 quarterback plan is coming together.
According to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero, New England is re-signing signal caller Nathan Rourke.
A native Canadien, Rourke spent 2021 and 2022 in the CFL with the BC Lions before signing with the Jaguars ahead of the 2023 season. He was waived in December and the Patriots claimed him. He served as New England's emergency quarterback for two weeks before being activated in Week 18 in place of Mac Jones.
According to MassLive, the Patriots are set to re-make their quarterback room ahead of the 2024 season, with plans to draft a quarterback with the No. 3 overall pick in the NFL Draft and sign a veteran who could start as the rookie develops.
Rourke likely wouldn't be called upon to start, but adds much-needed depth to the position should they move on from Mac Jones and/or Bailey Zappe.
