On Sunday, NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero reported that the Patriots and Titans linebacker Harold Landry have agreed to terms on a three-year year deal worth $43.5 million.
Pelissero says the deal includes $26 million in guaranteed money, and has a max value of $48 million.
The 28-year-old is a one-time Pro Bowl selection (2021), and has been among the most consistent pass rushers in the game since being drafted in the second round by Tennessee in 2018.
2025 won’t be Landry’s first time calling New England his football home, as he played his college football at Boston College from 2014 to 2017.
It also won’t be his first time playing football for Mike Vrabel, as the former Titans head coach was part of the decision makers who selected Landry 41st overall, and helped him reach Pro Bowl levels as his head coach the first five seasons of his career.
Vrabel told the media at the NFL Scouting Combine that he wanted the Patriots’ front office to have an aggressive approach during his first offseason at the helm in New England. Bringing aboard Landry at this number is the first example of the team following through on that edict.

With a league-leading $128 million in cap space, this should not be the first big name acquisition the team makes as free agency gets underway.
Landry will immediately help bolster a defense that regressed in 2024, ranking 22nd in overall defense, 22nd in scoring defense, 23rd in rushing defense, 25th in red zone defense, and 26th in third down defense.
