The Patriots have filled the open spot on their 53-man roster by signing a player off their practice squad.
According to multiple reports, linebacker Jahlani Tavai has been signed.
Tavai was signed to the practice squad after being released by the Lions at the end of training camp. He was elevated twice this year (Saints, Buccaneers), so could not be elevated again.
He's played nine defensive snaps in the two games.
It's unclear exactly where he'll fit in with the defense, as it added Jamie Collins last week.
The Patriots will host the Cowboys this Sunday.
