In a not so surprising move, the Patriots officially signed kicker Nick Folk to the active roster on Tuesday.
The veteran was on the practice squad for the first two weeks of the season and was elevated for the games. Since two is the maximum times a player can be elevated to the active roster, the Patriots needed to sign him to the 53-man roster in order for him to appear in a game again.
Folk has made 33 straight field goals, which is a Patriots franchise record.
New England also filled his spot on the practice squad by signing center Drake Jackson. He was signed by the Lions as an undrafted rookie this spring, but was released over the summer. He quickly signed on with Houston, but was released at the end of training camp.
The Patriots now have a full active roster and a full practice squad.
