With there being no NFL Combine this year, the thought is the Senior Bowl has an even a greater importance than it usually would.
So with that in mind, shouldn't all the coaches in the NFL be in attendance this week?
Apparently not.
According to NBC Sports Boston's Phil Perry, Bill Belichick is not in Mobile, Alabama, but he's not alone. Albert Breer of the MMQB said on Early Edition Wednesday that the only teams had members of their coaching staffs present are the Giants and Bengals.
Perry notes after dealing with COVID protocols all year, it appears teams are allowing their personnel departments to do the bulk of the work this week. Specific to the Patriots, it likely means Dave Ziegler leading the way down south.
No members of teams, besides the Dolphins and Panthers coaching staff (who are coaching the teams), are allowed on the field this week and instead are watching the action from individual suites.
With that being said, the practices Wednesday and Thursday are televised on ESPNU and Saturday's game will be on NFL Network, so it's not like Belichick and other coaches can't see what's taking place.
