Report: Patriots expected to add former Jets assistant to coaching staff

The Patriots' coaching staff will likely have a new face next season.

According to NFL Media's Tom Pelissero, they are expected to hire Bo Hardegree to the offensive staff, likely to help fill the void left by quarterbacks coach Jedd Fisch.

Hardegree, who is just 36 years old, was the Dolphins quarterbacks coach from 2016-18 and then Adam Gase brought him to the Jets as an offensive assistant, so he's clearly a favorite of the former Jets coach.

He played quarterback at the University of Tennessee, so he very likely will work with the quarterbacks in some fashion. Hardegree could have a role similar to Jerry Schuplinski a few years back where he primarily worked with the younger QBs on the roster.

When Fisch left for the University of Arizona, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels assumed his duties for the remainder of the season.
