6 rings: Patriots fans have reason to feel good
The Patriots are adding another quarterback.
According to the Boston Herald's Doug Kyed, the team is signing former Notre Dame signal caller Ian Book to their practice squad.
Book was a fourth-round pick by the Saints in 2021 before being waived last August. He spent 2022 with the Eagles, and was then waived last month during final roster cuts. New England worked out the QB on Wednesday morning and saw enough to sign him to the practice squad.
The Patriots recently claimed former Ole Miss quarterback Matt Corral and signed him to their 53-man active roster, but placed him on the reserve/left squad list last week after he reportedly no-showed practice on Friday. Bill Belichick told the media that they've been in contact with him, but it seems that they're going in a different direction with the signing of Book.
New England's quarterback room now consists of Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe on the active roster and Malik Cunningham and Ian Book on the practice squad.
