Will this year be different for N'Keal Harry?

Obviously, N'Keal Harry's rookie season did not go as planned.

Harry battled injuries all throughout the summer and therefore spent half the season on injured reserve and struggled to catch up. In seven games, he only had 12 receptions on 24 targets for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

Speaking via video conference Sunday, Harry acknowledged he was playing catchup for almost all of last year.

"Yeah, definitely," he said. "I didn't feel like I was playing catchup mentally as much, but definitely when I got out on the field it was just kind of hard to get in that groove because everybody else kind of got all of that out at the beginning of the season.

"So for me, it was just a little bit harder to get going but that's still no excuse. I'm just looking forward to this year and looking forward to playing my role and helping this team."

Harry put in a lot of time this offseason and figures to be the Patriots' No. 2 receiver behind Julian Edelman.

"I'm just super excited," he said, "Just getting this season started, it's been a long offseason. I've had a chance to prepare for this so I'm really looking forward to it."

Given who the Patriots have at wide out, Harry figures to line up all over the formation. He said he's ready for anything the coaches throw at him.

"I feel like I'm prepared to do whatever coach needs me to do," Harry said. "I've really been making sure I know what to do. Just trying to figure out just everything about the plays. So, I feel very comfortable. I'm just prepared for whatever coach throws at me."

Harry and the Patriots will host Miami Sept. 13.
