DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - If you can't make it out to a training camp practice this summer, the NFL is bringing you the next best thing.

The Dallas Cowboys will be featured on HBO's Hard Knocks, the team announced Friday. The five-episode series will premiere on Tuesday, Aug. 10, and will run every Tuesday until the final episode airs on Sept. 7.

According to league rules, the Cowboys were among five teams who were eligible to be chosen for this year's show. The other four were the Panthers, Cardinals, Broncos and Giants.

Teams are able to avoid the punishment if they fall under certain categories. Although, Jerry Jones might argue that it's a perfect branding opportunity.

The Cowboys will be heading back to Oxnard, Calif. for the first half of training camp and will return to Frisco for the second half. So portions of the show will take them across the country.

Dallas was featured on the 2002 and 2008 seasons of HBO's hit show that takes a behind-the-scenes look at one of the NFL's 32 teams during training camp.

The current Cowboys team would provide lots of storylines for the show - from a now-healthy Dak Prescott, the fascination of what Jerry Jones might say next, Mike McCarthy looking to right the ship, and on, and on.
