Patriots miss on another left tackle as Texans reportedly sign Cam Robinson

The Texans are signing veteran free agent tackle Cam Robinson, multiple media outlets reported Wednesday.

Robinson has started 101 games over his eight-year career, mostly with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was drafted there in the second round in 2017 out of Alabama.

Jacksonville traded Robinson to the Minnesota Vikings last October ahead of his free agency.

This move for the Texans comes the week after they traded Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil to the Washington Commanders. It created a potential void at left tackle, depending on their plans for second-year tackle Blake Fisher, or Tytus Howard, whose played multiple spots on the offensive line including left tackle.

Last season, Robinson started seven games for the Jaguars and 10 games for the Vikings.

With Robinson now off the market, the Patriots' options for bringing in an above-average left tackle from free agency continue to dwindle by the day.
