Fox Business host Neil Cavuto kept asking Robert Kraft whether he spoke with Tom Brady about a Patriots comeback.
Unsurprisingly, Kraft dodged the question. But notably, he supplied an emphatic endorsement of Mac Jones.
“We’re blessed to have a great young quarterback in Mac Jones, and I’m a strong believer in him and his development,” said Kraft in an interview Friday with Fox Business.
While Kraft has raved about Jones before — he said last year he expected Jones to make a big jump in his sophomore campaign — this is the first time Kraft has been asked about the team’s young QB since the end of the season.
Jones did not improve last year. Instead, he regressed.
But it seems like Kraft is confident in the Patriots’ new offensive setup. Earlier Friday, he told reporters he was thrilled with Bill O’Brien’s hiring.
“I think he was an excellent choice,” said Kraft. “And he has learning-curve experience of our system. He knows Mac Jones. He knows how to build a great offense. And I’m excited to see what happens next year.”
Kraft isn’t alone in that feeling.
