Last week prior to Super Bowl LV, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said Tom Brady is probably the greatest NFL player ever to play the game.

Brady furthered that legacy with another Super Bowl title, his seventh overall, and first not as a member of the Patriots Sunday night.

The Buccaneers quarterback also was awarded the game's MVP award for the fifth time in his career.

“We had a great Super Bowl game, a dominant performance by the Buccaneers," Goodell said during a Monday morning press conference. "Coach Arians, Tom Brady, well-deserved. Your leadership, your vision, your belief, your determination on delivering a Super Bowl to this community — you really delivered in every way. Really an extraordinary performance. The first time we had the host city in the game and now the first time obviously to win that game.

“It’s not unusual for us to see Tom Brady step up and win a championship and do it with just an extraordinary performance and lifting everybody around him, including this community and the nation. Tom, congratulations on your fifth MVP award — seven Super Bowl championships and 10 appearances. Just unmatched, unrivaled and just extraordinary performance.”

Brady has already said he plans on returning next season with his eyes fully set on an eighth championship.
