After watching Cam Newton in the Patriots' 35-30 loss to the Seahawks Sunday night, Ryan Clark came to a conclusion some others are drifting toward, as well.
Newton might just be the right guy at the right time for this group of Patriots' offensive weapons.
"This collection of players -- Jakobi Meyers, Damiere Byrd, N'Keal Harry -- is better with Cam Newton at quarterback, period," the ESPN analyst said. "They are. He does more with this team than Tom Brady ever could. That's not a knock on their careers. That is not in any way to negate Tom Brady's greatness. They needed Cam Newton. This was a match made in heaven, the same way Cam Newton said it was. It was beautiful to watch last night."

Newton ended up going 30-for-44 for 397 yards, rushing for two touchdowns and throwing for another. He also did something Brady had been criticized for not executing at times last season -- spreading out the receptions.
Second-year receiver Harry had his best game as a pro, finishing with eight catches for 72 yards. But it was more than just Harry and Julian Edelman (who also had 8 catches, going for 179 yards).
Five more Patriots notched at least one catch, with Byrd (6 catches, 72 yards), Jakobi Meyers and Ryan Izzo also getting in the act.
