Stefon Diggs cleared for full participation at training camp

On Tuesday morning, Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported on X.com that Patriots wide receiver Stefon Diggs has been cleared for full participation at training camp after spending the entire offseason rehabbing his surgically repaired ACL.

Russini went on to write, “While New England will monitor his reps early on, Diggs has looked strong in his return after tearing his ACL last October while taking team reps with second-year QB Drake Maye.”

The 31-year-old wide receiver was on pace for yet another 100-catch season in 2024 during his one season with the Texans until suffering the ligament tear that would knock him out for the rest of the season.

Patriots coach Mike Vrabel confirmed in his press conference later on Tuesday that Diggs is not expect to have any limitations moving forward.

When Diggs signed with New England in March, there was a question as to whether or not the former All-Pro would be ready for the start of training camp, with some doubt as to whether or not he would be ready to go for the team’s season opener against the Raiders at Gillette Stadium on September 7.

But with Tuesday's updates, it appears Diggs is right on track to be a Week 1 starter for his fourth different NFL franchise of his career.

And in case you were wondering, NFL Media's Tom Pelissero reported in May that while the league is aware of Diggs' viral boat video from OTAs, he is not currently under investigation for the incident.

Jones and Keefe broadcast live overlooking the practice fields at Gillette starting Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Home of Patriots Monday and Friday has training camp covered on the WEEI Network and WEEI.com.
