When it comes to Patriots rookies, Mac Jones, Christian Barmore and Rhamondre Stevenson are getting a lot of the headlines based on their play on the field.

Third-round pick, linebacker Ronnie Perkins has been inactive for every game this season, but outside linebackers coach Steve Belichick had some praise for him Wednesday.

“He’s doing great,” he said via video conference. “He’s doing great. He does everything that we ask him to do, which I appreciate as a coach. Yeah, Ronnie’s doing great. I’m happy that he’s on our team, for sure.”

With all the depth the Patriots entered the year with at linebacker, it was expected to be a red-shirt year of sorts for the Oklahoma product. And based on what we saw last week with Tashawn Bower being elevated off the practice squad with Jamie Collins and Chase Winovich on injured reserve, it seems likely won't see Perkins at all this season.

But that doesn't mean Perkins won't contribute down the road, as plenty of Patriots rookies haven't played and then went on to have solid careers with the organization.
