Tom Brady after wild finish to Bucs-Rams: 'That was f—ing awesome'

Tom Brady looked like he was going to come up short for a sixth time this season.

But then he put on a vintage display.

Brady and the Bucs offense looked lifeless much of the afternoon against the Los Angeles Rams, another talented but underperforming team. And with 44 seconds to play, Brady and the Bucs got the ball on their own 40-yard line down 13-9 with no timeouts.

Like a switch was flipped, the Bucs offense started cooking. They ended up driving all the way down the field and scoring, using just 35 seconds to score the game-winner.

This has not been a great year for Brady or the Bucs, and it was evident after the touchdown how relieved the 45-year-old was. And when he got to the podium afterwards, he pounded his hands and uncorked a simple reaction.

“That was awesome. That was f—ing awesome,” Brady said.

That was Brady's 55th career game-winning drive, and earlier in the day he became the first player in league history with over 100,000 career passing yards.

Because the NFC South has been terrible this season, the win put the now-4-5 Bucs atop the division and into the No. 4 seed. Time will tell if Sunday’s performance marks the start of better play, but Brady has reason to feel good Sunday night.
