Tom Brady has been a member of the Buccaneers for 10 months now, so even after being with the Patriots for 20 years, the quarterback said being known as the quarterback of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers doesn't seem so weird to him anymore.
“Yeah, being in one place for 20 years and then to hear something different I’m sure it takes awhile for everyone to get used to," he said Monday night with Jim Gray on Westwood One Radio. "It did take a little bit of time for me, but I’ve been at it all season now with the Bucs, so it doesn’t sound so quite different for me.”
Through 15 games, Brady has thrown for 4,234 yards to go along with 36 touchdowns and 11 interceptions.
With their win over the Lions last weekend, the Buccaneers clinched a spot in the postseason.
“We’re all certainly excited about the opportunity to play beyond the regular season," Brady said. "We still have one more week to go, but I would say from my standpoint one of the great feelings is to be apart of a team and to bring other guys that haven’t been in that position to get an opportunity to play in January. That was a goal for our team from the start of the season and we were able to accomplish that with a win last week.
"Our whole season is ahead of us. There’s a lot of football left to be played and in order to continue to achieve, you have to play very, very well. And you’re playing against teams where there is very, very little margin of error because they are the best teams. Hopefully we can take everything we’ve learned over the course of the year and put it to use and I am excited about what we think we can achieve, but we have to earn it because nothing is given in the NFL.”
Right now, Tampa Bay is the No. 5 seed and would play the winner of the NFC East on Wild Card Weekend.
