Tom Brady threw for 381 yards, his fifth-most ever in a playoff game, in Tampa Bay's 31-23 win over Washington Saturday night, but the quarterback wasn't satisfied.
Brady's postgame video conference lasted just over 3.5 minutes and the QB wasn't acting like his team had just won a playoff game.
“We had opportunities to pull away and just couldn’t quite do it," he said. "Didn’t score enough points in the red area, so certainly a lot to improve on. But, great to get a win and figure out who we’re playing [Sunday] and go from there.”
Tampa Bay was 1-for-5 in the red zone and its wide receivers had a number of dropped passes in the game.
“You could win 100-0 and it’s going to be the same result in the end," Brady said. "You’d love to play great every game. I think it’s good to win and advance. If we don’t play well next week, we’re not going to be happy. I am glad we won. Glad we have another week to work and we’re going to go in there and try to do a much better job this week. Whoever our opponent is is going to be a good one and we’re going to have to go play great football.”
If the Saints beat the Bears Sunday, the Bucs will take on the Saints, but if the Bears win, the Bucs would host the Rams.
