What’s impressed Bruce Arians most about Tom Brady might surprise many Patriots fans

Tom Brady and the Buccaneers have established themselves as one of the best teams in the NFC 10 games into the season.

Currently, Tampa Bay is 7-3 and Brady has thrown 23 touchdown passes to seven interceptions.

Appearing on The Rich Eisen Show Tuesday, Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians was asked what has stood out most when it comes to his new quarterback.

“I think the biggest thing is how great a job he does with young players,” he said. “He’s like having another coach out there. I will tell a kid to do something, ‘pump your arms on this’ — I have to tell him five times and Tom will say, ‘Hey, can you pump your arms?’ ‘Oh yeah, sure.’”

This may be a little surprising to those who knew Brady in New England, especially over the last several seasons.

Brady seemed to have a hard time connecting with rookies N’Keal Harry and Jakobi Meyers last year and that has not really been an issue in New England this year with Cam Newton at quarterback.

And it isn’t just using those two players as an example. For years the narrative with Brady was it’s tough to come in, learn the offense and get on the same page as him given how demanding he is.

Perhaps, this is a new side of Brady now that he’s out of New England and with a new team.

“When he speaks they all listen,” Arians said. “It’s been great. Unbelievable competitor and I love everything about him.”

Tampa Bay will take on the Rams this Monday night.
