Tom Brady becomes the second-most sacked quarterback of all time

Tom Brady ranks among the greats in just about every category, even the unflattering ones.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback moved ahead of John Elway on Sunday as the second-most sacked quarterback in NFL history.

Brady was brought down by Falcons linebacker Deion Jones with 13:51 remaining in the second quarter – the 517th time he had been sacked in his 21-year career.

The 43-year-old Brady has never been known for his legs or ability to escape under pressure, so it should come as no surprise he is up near the top of the list. You also have to play quarterback for a long time to get there, too, so it is almost as if it comes with the territory of being an all-time great.

Hall of Famer Brett Favre is the record holder, having been sacked 525 times during his 20-year career. It is certainly possible Brady could catch him within the next two weeks, although it is more a certainty Brady will surpass Favre by next season.
