Even though Tom Brady has one game remaining in the 2020 season, he sent a message to the rest of the league when it comes to 2021: he plans on being even better.
“As long as I’m playing, I want to improve and get better,” Brady said Wednesday in his Super Bowl media availability. “And I think next year’s going to be a lot better than this year. I feel like I’ll be in a much better place mentally. I’m going to train a lot better this year. Physically, next year I’ll be in a better place.
“I know as soon as this game ends, we’re on to next season. So we’ll get ready for this (game) and then start thinking about next year.”
Brady's Buccaneers will take on the Chiefs in Super Bowl LV Sunday night.
Tampa Bay will likely look a lot different next season as it has several key free agents on the offensive side of the ball in Chris Godwin, Rob Gronkowski and Antonio Brown.
The 43-year-old is under contract until after next season, but indicated this week he could play beyond age 45.
Brady obviously had a lot of factors working against him this year with switching teams after 20 seasons, the pandemic, etc., so maybe he's right and he will be even better in 2021.
