(Listen: Bill Belichick discusses the loss to the Bills on The Greg Hill Show.)
While there’s been plenty to discuss football-wise after the Patriots’ loss to the Bills, the most viral moment from Sunday came after the game when a reporter asked a dour Bill Belichick if he had any New Year’s resolutions.
“Yeah, no, not right now,” Belichick responded. “Maybe next week.”
Everyone seems to be weighing in on the uncomfortable exchange, and that now includes Tom Brady. On the latest episode of his “Let’s Go!” podcast with Jim Gray, Brady reacted to the question and Belichick’s answer, and joked that the reporter would serve as inspiration for his own New Year’s resolution.
“I want to be as brave and courageous as she was, asking that question to Coach Belichick after a loss,” Brady said. “That's what I want for the New Year.”
“That was awesome. Good for her,” Brady added. “I could’ve predicted that answer. It’s usually not the best time to ask a coach about things like that after a loss.”
Brady also added a second resolution, albeit one that doesn’t seem particularly necessary given everything we know about the TB12 lifestyle.
“I think I’ll do what most people do. I think I’m gonna splurge for a local gym membership,” Brady said. “At 44, I have to stay in shape.”
