Tom Brady Sr. is ‘salivating’ over Patriots-Bucs, expects to ‘beat Patriots handily’

Tom Brady Jr. may be acting coy about his return to Foxboro. But Tom Brady Sr. is not.

In a spontaneous radio call-in, “Tom in California” professed his excitement about the marquee matchup of the season.

"I saw the schedule come out last night, and I started salivating when I saw that we play the Patriots in the fourth game of the season and that we're coming up here to make our record 4-0 after the fourth game,” he said.

Later in the call, Brady Sr. expressed his “love for the (Patriots) organization and its fanbase,” but made no secret about what he expects to transpire at Gillette Stadium Oct. 3.

"We expect to beat the Patriots rather handily, frankly,” he said.

This isn’t the first time Brady Sr. has enjoyed throwing some smack talk against the Patriots — this year. Back in January, he remarked Bill Belichick is “on a little bit of a hot seat.”

Brady Jr. also commented on the big game Thursday, comparing the affair to a high school reunion, complete with the “nervously grinning” emoji.

While Brady’s departure from the Patriots shocked the NFL world, Brady Sr. saw it coming. Six years ago, he predicted it would “end badly” for his son in New England.

His son won three more Super Bowls with the Patriots after that — and played in four — so he was wrong about it ending badly. But it did end, and not smoothly.

Brady Sr. was right about that. Fathers always know best.
