Tom Brady isn't officially retiring from the NFL -- yet.
Following ESPN reporting the 44-year-old quarterback is retiring from the NFL following 22 seasons on Saturday afternoon, his agent Don Yee released a statement.
“I understand the advance speculation about Tom’s future,” Yee said. “Without getting into the accuracy or inaccuracy of what’s being reported, Tom will be the only person to express his plans with complete accuracy. He knows the realities of the football business and planning calendar as well anybody, so that should be soon.”
Yee didn't necessarily dispute what was reported, rather basically delay the inevitable announcement.
It seems likely Brady will put something out on his own at some point soon. ESPN wrote in its story Brady's official move "will be made with consideration to not upstage the NFL's postseason games or Super Bowl."
