The Patriots unfortunately left Friday's game without a perfectly clean bill of health. Even more troubling, the name on the injury report is a big one.
The team announced Tyquan Thornton suffered a shoulder injury during the fourth quarter of Friday's game and ruled him out for the remainder of the game.
Thornton appeared to play just two series on Friday -- one with Mac Jones and the No. 1 offense and another with Brian Hoyer in at quarterback, catching his only target for 13 yards. The timing of his injury remains unclear.
Thornton was officially ruled out by the Patriots well after he was last seen in the game, and no injury issue had been noted before that. As such, ruling him out of the game might have just been a precautionary measure.
Still, seeing Thornton on the injury report isn't encouraging, and his status will be something to monitor next week as the Patriots travel to Las Vegas for joint practices with the Raiders.
