Meyer's daughter Gigi took to social media on Thursday morning to stand up for her father following his failed and short-lived stint in Jacksonville, which many believe could spell the end of his tenure in the NFL after a wildly successful career in the college ranks.

In a series of posts published by her Instagram account, Gigi served as character witness to her father, and blamed "the media" for portraying him as a bully.

"You can argue whether my dad is a 'good person' or not based on what you see in the media (super reliable source of info as we know)," she said. "Anyone who truly knows us knows how incredible he is as a person."

The younger Meyer also posted several photos of her father hugging some of his former players, and sarcastically captioned the collage "What a bully."

Urban Meyer was sacked amid reports that he had kicked former Jaguars place kicker Josh Lambo during pregame warmups before a preseason game earlier this year. Meyer said Lambo had mischaracterized a playful exchange as something more insidious.

But there had already been a litany of prior incidents and reports that seemed to suggest Meyer was struggling through a very rough transition to the pros ranks -- and that he might not be long for the NFL.

Meyer came under especially withering criticism in Week 4, when he declined to fly home with his team after a brutal loss to the Bengals on Thursday Night Football. The former Utah, Florida and Ohio State coach was later seen dancing suggestively with a woman other than his wife at his steakhouse in Columbus.

During her rant on Thursday, Gigi Meyer seemed to suggest her father's days in football weren't yet over.

"This is war. But like I said ... We all know who wins in the end"
